Like never before, tech skills are in demand for remote work. The COVID-19 pandemic has led many companies to transition completely to remote working conditions. For a successful transition, the following top tech skills are of essence for employees to remain relevant.

Web development

Learning how to code is not difficult. All you need is to dedicate time and learn the basics of computer programming. There are hundreds of free resources available online. Coursera, YouTube, Hubspot, and IBM are some of the free e-learning sites you can visit.

Content Marketing

Writing is easy because the more you practice, the better you become. This skill will help you write better emails, documents, and business copies. Rather than wait for a content writer to vet all your documents, take a writing course, and become a pro with time.

Graphics Design

Nobody rejects a visually appealing document. At a point in your career, you will be required to submit a presentation material. Learning graphics, animation, UI/UX, or logo making will be valuable for a remote job, especially when the official graphics designer is engaged with work.

Data Science

Having insights and understanding both structured and unstructured data is one tech skill that everyone should possess. First, start from learning the nitty-gritty of Microsoft Excel, then continue building your data science skills by delving into machine learning, data mining, and big data. This skill is very much in demand all over the world and you can even take up freelancing and work remotely.

Cloud Computing

As more companies experience security breaches, there is a need for more cybersecurity. You can prevent the hijacking of millions of records, stolen funds, and exposure of private data with this single skill.

Each one of these tech skills is valuable for remote workers in 2020. Start with one and become very grounded before you focus on another. No knowledge is wasted when it comes to learning tech skills. Keep learning.
