MTN Nigeria has announced that it will commence deployment of the 5G technology  in Nigeria before 2020. This will enable the company to provide better data services at a more affordable cost to its subscribers.


Recall that we reported a 24-year-old Ugandan software engineer, Brian Gitta  who won the Africa Prize for Engineering Innovation, with his project, ‘Matibabu‘. Matibabu is a device that tests for malaria without drawing blood. Digest Africa has traced the roots of this start-up which is now five years.  


African innovators may not be getting the hype and due accolades at the global level but that does not in any way deter their innovative ideas. They are actually creating technologies that will make life easier and transform our continent.
