We begin with the news from Crenov8 Consulting.


Crenov8 Consulting is bringing its Agro export conference, Meet the Farmers Conference (MTFC), to Rwanda on October 5, 2018 at Radisson Blu Hotel, Rwanda.The Agro Conference is targeted at connecting large scale agro commodity producers to buyers and investors in the Middle East.

Rwandan Minister for Agriculture and Livestock, Gerardine Mukeshimana; Madam Sandrine Urujeni, Deputy CEO of National Agricultural Export Board (NAEB); Representatives from Bank of Kigali, Godfrey Kabera, Chairman of RwandAir and other renowned Agric stakeholders in Rwanda would be speaking at the conference.

The event is open to all with an attendance fee of 100 USD. Interested participants

Also, Contec Global has developed a mobile transacting app called NowNow. The app allows people living in Nigeria pay bills, transfer funds to bank accounts, buy airtime & Data and pay bills in Nigeria.

NowNow will help realise financial inclusion for emerging markets, and also disrupt the current status quo in the financial services.


In Egypt, a Community management start-up in the country called iCommunity has secured $600,000 from the Egyptian VC company, Algebra Ventures in a Series-A funding round. The start-up intends to use the investment to expand in both its home country and internationally.


Moving on, due to the increment of flight bookings on Jumia flights portal and an explosive 400% growth between July 2017 and July 2018, Jumia together with Amadeus, a Madrid based travel technology firm will be launching an online flight booking platform.

The platform will enable travel agents, airlines and travel websites bring all flight content online, to offer customers the best available prices for their flights.


In the Global scene, Microsoft, yesterday announced the updated version of the Surface Pro.

In Microsoft’s words, “it is the most powerful Surface Pro yet”. The device can be used in tablet, studio, or laptop modes, and comes with 8th-gen Intel Core i5 or i7 processor, SSD storage, and up to 16GB of RAM.

The device will go on sale in the US from 16 October 2018, starting at $899. It will be available in black and platinum colours.
